The OrthoGraph Survey is an efficient and easy-to-handle aid in on-site ground plan sketching and surveying.
Pros: This is a PDA based real estate surveying system that can make the process quite efficient. Onsite measurements are carried out with the PDA and then the sketch, measurements etc can be transferred into a PC. Since surveying can be planned and operations checked right on-site it makes error-free data entry all the more feasible and easy to implement. Floor plan and other data of buildings and lots and landmarks can be recorded along with objects found on them and their attributes too can be listed in a defined structural form. When defining the properties they may be typified ,for example text fields, values of length, yes/no buttons, pre defined default values from affixed list etc can ensure error free data entry can be ensured. OrthoGraph Survey supports ground plan sketching and measurement. The module shows measured drawings in real time and facilitates the creation of an electronic drawing on site. Measured rooms or graphical parts are ordered into a structural view so that users obtain a clear overview of what they are measuring. Floating islands, or ghost layers, help users attach rooms to one another and display only the focused information that is relevant to the task at hand. Features also include support for Leica Disto A6, which can control automatic measurement tasks via Bluetooth. Default output formats of OrthoGraph Survey are DWG and PDF, but other formats are supported as well. Both these being two most common formats it is easy to work with the most popular drawing and document printing applications.
Cons: No obvious problems here. However, watch out carefully as version 1.0 of any software is always prone to bugs.
Overall: This is a quite well organized, simple to use application with practical support from handheld tools. This is definitely a 4 star application.
